Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Monica Vega, MD ("Dr. Vega," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with this website, drmonicavega.com (the "Site"). This Site is provided for general informational purposes and does not create a physician-patient relationship.
This policy covers the Site only. It does not cover how we handle protected health information (PHI) for patients under our care, which is addressed separately in our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, linked below.
Information we collect
We do not operate any account system, contact form, or newsletter signup directly on this Site. The Site itself does not knowingly collect personal information beyond what is described here.
- Information you choose to share. If you call, email, or use the "Request Appointment" or "Patient Portal" links on this Site, you leave drmonicavega.com and provide information directly to us or to our scheduling platform, SimplePractice, as described below.
- Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting server may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages visited, for security and basic operational purposes.
Appointment scheduling (SimplePractice)
The "Request Appointment" feature on this Site is provided by SimplePractice, LLC, a third-party practice management and scheduling platform. When you use it, the appointment request form is served by SimplePractice, and any information you enter (such as your name, contact details, and reason for the request) is submitted directly to SimplePractice and to our practice, governed by SimplePractice's Privacy Policy. The "Patient Portal" link takes you to our SimplePractice Client Portal, a separate site operated by SimplePractice.
Protected health information & HIPAA
If you become a patient of our practice, your protected health information is handled in accordance with our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this website. Please review our Notice of Privacy Practices for details on how PHI is used, disclosed, and protected, and your rights regarding your health information.
You also have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges under the No Surprises Act. See the No Surprises Act for more information.
Cookies
This Site does not set first-party advertising or tracking cookies. The embedded SimplePractice appointment widget may set cookies necessary for it to function once you interact with it; those are controlled by SimplePractice, not by us.
How we use information
Any information you send us directly (by phone, email, or through SimplePractice) is used only to respond to your inquiry, schedule or manage care, and to operate our practice. We do not sell personal information.
Links to other websites
This Site links to third-party sites we do not control, including our SimplePractice Client Portal. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.
